Richard Silberstein
Chief Science OfficerProfessor Emeritus Richard Silberstein, Neuro-Insight’s founder, serves as Board Chairman, Chief Scientist, and director of Neuro-Insight’s research program. The originator of the Steady State Topography (SST) methodology Neuro-Insight uses to measure brain activity, he is enthusiastic in his quest to link academic and commercial neuroscience research—especially when Neuro-Insight commercial findings shed new light on basic brain processes.
Richard has more than 35 years of cognitive neuroscience research experience, examining the relationship between brain electrical activity and psychological processes. Before founding Neuro-Insight, Richard served as Chairman of the Physics Department and, later, Founding Director of the Brain Sciences Institute at Swinburne University. He has served on the Executive Committee of the International Society for Brain Electromagnetic Topography and was a member of Brain Topography’s Editorial Board. More recently, he served as President and Advisory Board Chairman of the Neuromarketing Science and Business Association.
He has authored peer-reviewed papers cited more than 5,000 times in areas including brain activity signal processing, memory, attention, creativity, and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder. Richard and his team have also co-authored key consumer neuroscience papers linking brain activity while viewing advertising with long-term memory and consumer behavior, work that was recognized with a Great Mind Award from the Advertising Research Foundation.
